It indeed seems that the laptop came with 24.04 but automatically
installed 25.10 upon first boot. I definitely did not run this manually
- I even went through the shell history to make sure.

I actually tried to install evdi-dkms but this also didn't work. And
neither did the displaylink-driver APT repository...
