Hi, so, the underlying issue then is:

Install with VMD disabled and boot = success
Install with VMD disabled, reboot, success, enable VMD, reboot = FAIL?

What about "Install with VMD enabled" from the very beginning?

Regarding your comment #9, how did you try adding to the grub config
file? where specifically did you add it?

And after editing the grub config did you do both:

sudo update-grub
and
sudo update-initramfs -u

Also, after that you may need to also add vmd to /etc/initramfs-
tools/modules and redo update-initramfs. Not sure that will help, it was
a suggestion I found, but it's worth trying.
