Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core
The xorg scheduler is currently quite dumb and causes a large number of unnecessary wakeups. The attached patch originally authored by Arjan van de Ven [1] reworks the scheduler to decrease the amount of wakeups and thus increasing the battery life of the system. FWIW mandriva has already incorporated this patch [2] [1] http://www.bughost.org/pipermail/power/2007-October/001107.html [2] http://www.nabble.com/-Bug-36746--x11-server-xorg,-NEW:-Patch-to-reduce-wake-ups-in-do_setitimer--(it_real_fn)-td14789287.html ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [PATCH] Improve the xorg scheduler to improve battery performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184396 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
