System: Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 (Kernel 2.6.22-14-generic) on Thinkpad T60, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
- Installed 8.01 using Method 2 from here: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Gutsy_Installation_Guide#Method_2:_Install_the_Catalyst_8.1_Driver_Manually - Changed /etc/default/acpi-support as suggested by osteenbergen above. Suspend and Hibernate both work great! Yay! But they only work when System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects is set to None. Otherwise, the effects are pretty, but the computer does not suspend/hibernate. Do settings in Visual Effects tab have *anything* to do with compiz? (I never installed compiz, but compiz is a valid shell command) On a separate note, installing xserver-xgl package makes things worse: computer freezes upon logout. So, I have it uninstalled now. Some other observations: mplayer plays well in both x11 and xv; Google Earth works smoothly; fgl_glxgears says: "4683 frames in 5.0 seconds = 936.600 FPS" -- [gutsy] fglrx breaks over suspend/resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121653 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
