* solution for artist/album hierarchy: drag & drop the mp3 files from "Konqueror" into the "Collection" tab in "Amarok". Then you get initial/artist/album hierarchy by default. You can change this in the automatically opened dialog (hit Details>>) into artist/album hierarchy, or almost anything you might imagine.
Note: You probably need to install Amarok. * configuration e.g. encoding bitrate: I think, did not test, that you can use the KDE-configure "Audio CDs" dialog. (Don't know how to access this with KDE, because I'm using gnome.
