Ok, this problem has been around ever since I first tried ubuntu dapper drake 
6.06
Now, the thing is that if:
a) I have open an application that uses sound (i.e. Rhythmbox or Totem)
OR
b) I haven't done a couple of commands:
echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
echo "et.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss

..then I have no sound for enemy territory. If I do the commands (in sudo -s 
mode) and 
Can someone fix this? It's been around for quite a long time, there has to be a 
fix for it!
