Okay, but are you doing any kind of regression testing? Or, how are you
confirming that the performance problems you mention are actually being
fixed?

While checking the symbol is definitely a good test to look at the build
behavior, it is not sufficient to ensure that your stated user impact
(performance issue) is being addressed.
