@Nathan Teodosio : I don't think Kerberos use in Firefox is the issue - I didn't use Kerberos other than for the NFS security and the same thing happens with sshfs for home dir. I think the problem was that the snap wrapper changed user to root (I think), and then tried to access the user's NFS home directory as someone other than the authenticated user. The NFS server refused the unauthenticated user.
