Hi,
I'm confirming that this regression is also affecting high-end RDNA 3
hardware. I am using an AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series GPU and experiencing
the exact same 'black screen on resume' issue since the recent kernel
updates.
Here is the log captured after a failed resume attempt:
[ 512.443322] amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: [gfx_v11_0] ring gfx timeout,
signaled seq=4521, emitted seq=4523
[ 512.443325] [drm] GPU recovery switch is on
[ 512.443328] amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: GPU reset begin!
[ 513.882100] amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: Failed to resume GPU from suspend
[ 513.882105] [drm:amdgpu_device_ip_resume_phase2 [amdgpu]] *ERROR* resume of
IP block <gfx_v11_0> failed -110
[ 513.882110] PM: dpm_run_callback(): pci_pm_resume+0x0/0x100 [pci] returns
-110
[ 513.882115] PM: Device 0000:03:00.0 failed to resume: error -110
System Details:
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series (RDNA 3)
Kernel: 6.8.0-xx-generic
Status: System hangs completely after suspend, requiring a hard
reboot.
This confirms the bug is not isolated to GCN 3.0/4.0 (Tonga/Polaris)
architectures, but is a broader regression in the amdgpu driver
affecting current-gen hardware as well. We need a fix as soon as
possible.
