Public bug reported:

reproduction steps

new install ubuntu 26.04 lts into hyper-v

create login accounts:
main ubuntu system account : goldii, password: pwt123

second account: rmt_test, password: test123

enable desktop sharing
Settings -> System -> Remote Desktop -> Desktop Sharing

turn on : desktop share

turn on: remote control

lgoin detail:

user name: goldii

password: pwt123
On windows 11 , using mstsc.exe , connect with
192.168.0.107:3390, goldii, pwt123

when logon by hyper-v, then mstsc can login, otherwise, mstsc will
terminate.

using

192.168.0.107:3390, user_any_name, pwt_any

could also login likes the above operation

turn off desktop sharing

enable remote login
Settings -> System -> Remote Desktop -> Remote Login

turn on: remote login
login with:

192.168.0.107, rmt_test, test123

failed: An authentication error occurred

192.168.0.107, user_any_name, pwt_any

failed: An authentication error occurred

192.168.0.107, goldii, pwt123

success.

As you can see, the "Remote Login" was not worked fine. When it
verifying user login information, it uses main account as the login
info. It is very confusing.

** Affects: bash (Ubuntu)
