Public bug reported:

Hardware: ASUS UX331UA, Intel Core (Kaby Lake), i915 graphics.
OS: Ubuntu 26.04 (Kernel 7.x)

Issue Description:
The system completely freezes (cursor hangs, deadlock, requires a hard hardware
reboot) when using Remmina (RDP protocol). The crash consistently happens
during sudden GUI updates inside the RDP session (e.g., printing to PDF from a
remote Windows application and closing the dialog window).

Troubleshooting done:

Tried kernel parameters: i915.enable_psr=0, intel_idle.max_cstate=1,
i915.enable_guc=0, i915.enable_dc=0 – None of these prevented the crash.

Switching to an external FHD monitor (via direct HDMI) instead of a 2K
display did not resolve the issue.

The Regresion Proof:
When I boot into the older kernel (the one carried over from Ubuntu 25.10), the
system is 100% stable. The RDP session works flawlessly, and printing to PDF
does not crash the system.

Conclusion:
This is a severe regression in the newer kernel provided in Ubuntu 26.04,
likely related to the i915 driver's memory management (TTM) or rendering
instructions during large screen redraws on Kaby Lake architecture.
