Touchpad latency/regression after recent Ubuntu updates on Lenovo

- Lenovo ThinkPad T14
- Touchpad became noticeably laggy/delayed after recent Ubuntu updates.
Symptoms:
- Touchpad movement feels delayed / sluggish / “retarded”.
- The problem started after recent system updates.
- Please investigate as a possible regression in kernel / i2c_hid / libinput /
GNOME input stack.
Tests performed:
