Hello,

I would like to follow up on this bug report and ask whether enabling
CONFIG_IRQ_TIME_ACCOUNTING still makes sense for newer kernels (e.g.,
6.8+).

From what I understand, this option enables more accurate IRQ time
tracking, which can be useful for performance profiling and analysis
tools (e.g., perf, top, /proc/stat IRQ time reporting).

Has there been any upstream decision regarding this option in recent
kernels? Is it still relevant, or has it been superseded/replaced by
another mechanism?

Would it be worth enabling it by default in the Ubuntu kernel
configuration?

Thank you for your time and consideration.
