Public bug reported:
I'm running Nvidia 535.288.01 driver on Wayland / Ubuntu 24.04.4 and
have the latest Google Chrome version.
The issue is that Hardware Graphics Acceleration fails to initalize and
remains disabled (as you can see in the attached chrome://gpu dump). If
I run it on X11 (by modifying the EXEC line), it works, but then I get
screen tearing which is even worse.
I have tried the following EXEC lines for Chrome, in addition to the
default one:
google-chrome --ozone-platform=wayland
google-chrome-stable --ozone-platform=wayland --disable-features=Vulkan
--ignore-gpu-blocklist
google-chrome-stable --ozone-platform-hint=auto --enable-
features=VaapiVideoDecodeLinuxGL,WaylandWindowDecorations --ignore-gpu-
blocklist --enable-zero-copy
google-chrome-stable --ozone-platform=wayland --enable-
features=Vulkan,UseOzonePlatform --ignore-gpu-blocklist --disable-gpu-
sandbox
Nothing works. On Firefox, GPU acceleration works fine.
