I am experiencing a critical issue in Ubuntu 26.04 (Unity) that was not
present in version 25.04. When an audio call is active (MS Teams or
Steam Chat) and a game is launched via Steam, the entire system audio
engine hangs.
Symptoms:
System-wide audio disappears completely.
Video playback (YouTube, browser, or local players) freezes/stalls because the
video clock is waiting for the audio sync that never comes.
Hardware: AMD GPU with Mesa drivers.
Observed behavior:
It seems like a deadlock occurs between PipeWire and WirePlumber when trying to
handle multiple streams with different roles (Communication vs Game). The
current build in the repositories seems unstable under this specific load.
Request:
Please consider updating PipeWire and WirePlumber to the latest upstream stable
release. Many similar issues with AMD audio and session switching have been
addressed in recent PipeWire commits (1.2.x+).
