I ran the suggestion, but unfortunately it did not solve the package dependency between kubuntu-desktop and plasma-deskton.
On a whim, I tried this: sudo aptitute distupgrade This removed a very large amount of packages, such as kubuntu-desktop. Interesting, so I continued as before. Without rebooting and still in the running kubuntu-desktop, I executed: sudo do-release-upgrade After the reboot, I had a running Ubuntu 26.04, but ofcourse without desktop (cli only). So I executed: sudo apt update; sudo apt upgrade; sudo apt install kubuntu-desktop After the succesful installation, and a reboot, the release upgrade is now complete. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2152795 Title: distupgrade kubuntu 25.10 to 26.04 fails; many broken kde package dependencies including plasma-desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/2152795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
