Public bug reported:
The Ubuntu 26.04 and its flavors miss the ACPI Lid open/close event. As
a result, the note PC cannot suspend when lid is closed.
I expect PC suspend when the lid is closed.
## Hardware and distro
Hardware : Fujitsu FMV Lifebook U9312
Distro which reproduce the problem:
- Ubuntu 26.04 ( Live CD )
- Kubuntu 26.04 ( Installed & Live CD )
- Lubuntu 26.04 ( Live CD )
Distro which works without problem:
- Ubuntu 25.10 ( Live CD )
- Kubuntu 25.10 ( Live CD )
## Investigation
I have investigated message logs of several layer on Ubuntu 26.04 and 25.10.
This investigation is done with Live CD.
| Log | Ubuntu 25.10 | Ubuntu 26.04 |
|----------------------------|---------------------|---------------------|
| dmesg | Lid switch detected | Lid switch detected |
| acpi_listen | Lid events detected | Events NOT detected |
| journald -u systemd-logind | Lid events detected | Events NOT detected |
While the Lid switch is detected, Ubuntu 26.04 doesn't listen to the
ACPI Lid event.
