OK - that's actually good in my mind as it confirms a few things: 1) It's not unique to your single system (like a platform/silicon bug) 2) It's not unique to your software setup
To rule out the stutter thing, I suggest starting with the fix to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2149877. If that doesn't work; please try to add this to your kernel.
