Public bug reported:

Wayland OpenGL's performance has dramatically suffered with GNOME 50
(Ubuntu 26.04 LTS).  Vulkan does not seem effected by it and neither is
Kwin (Plasma).

You can find a more thorough description and my playback program for
testing it with a 4K movie of your choice.
