Public bug reported:
Steps to reproduce:
* Use a dual monitor setup on Ubuntu 26 (Wayland session).
* Open two separate Google Chrome windows (one on each monitor).
* Drag a tab from the window on Monitor 1 over to the window on Monitor 2.
* Attempt to merge the tab back into the window's tab strip.
Expected result: The tab merges cleanly into the second window.
Actual result: The entire system freezes for 2-3 seconds, GNOME Shell crashes,
and the user is forcefully logged out to the GDM screen. All unsaved
application data is lost.
