I have a Lenovo Thinkpad R60 with Ubuntu Mate 24.04.4 LTS with Kernel 6.8.0-117. I had the same shutdown problem. My workaround is to add pci=noacpi to parameter GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in file /etc/default/grub
