Having considered the plan for GNOME 51 and looked at what other
platforms do, I think expanding over what's below is the only acceptable
behaviour. So I'm going to say "Won't Fix" here, but also note that I've
already implemented wider tiles in GNOME 51 so Ubuntu 26.10 and later
will require fewer lines of expansion and have less overlap.
Bug 968213 will also get some attention soon.
