Public bug reported:
ASUS Vivobook laptop with MediaTek MT7902 WiFi adapter and Bluetooth
device.
Ubuntu 26.04 installs successfully, but both WiFi and Bluetooth are not
functional after installation.
System details:
Ubuntu version: 26.04
Kernel version: 7.0.0-1005-oem
Laptop: ASUS Vivobook
WiFi chipset: MediaTek MT7902 (PCI ID 14c3:7902)
Observed behavior:
WiFi networks do not appear
Bluetooth cannot start properly
Device appears as "UNCLAIMED" in:
sudo lshw -class network
nmcli device only shows ethernet and loopback interfaces
Temporary wired internet works correctly
Commands tested:
sudo modprobe mt7921e
sudo modprobe mt7925e
Modules appear loaded in lsmod, but the WiFi device still does not
initialize correctly.
This issue may be related to MT7902 driver support or compatibility with
the Ubuntu 26.04 OEM kernel.
