It seems candidate revision contains two .desktop files:
$ dpkg -c gnome-chess_0.3.3-6.1ubuntu1_i386.deb | grep desktop

./usr/share/gnome/apps/Games/gnome-chess.desktop
-rw-r--r-- root/root 981 2008-01-21 20:46

$
