Hi — thanks for the long-standing report and the clear workaround
documentation. Fixed in commit 5d2c98d9: byobu-janitor now reads
BYOBU_SHELL_ARGS from ~/.byobu/statusrc. If set to '--login', it
writes: set -g default-command "exec \$SHELL --login" into
$BYOBU_CONFIG_DIR/shellinit.tmux, which is sourced by tmuxrc on every F5
reload. This starts every new window and pane as a login shell that
sources /etc/profile.d, making aliases and tools like
Lmod/Spack/environment-modules available. Default behaviour (non-login,
no double-sourcing of .profile) is preserved when BYOBU_SHELL_ARGS is
unset. Closing as Fix Released.
