Additional OBS-specific reproduction detail: OBS Studio 32.1.2 from the obsproject Ubuntu package is running on the native Wayland path: - Platform: Wayland - Using EGL/Wayland - OpenGL adapter: Intel Mesa Intel(R) Graphics (ARL) - Mesa: 26.0.3-1ubuntu1
With OBS open in a normal window, the visible flicker/ghosting returns and gnome-shell again logs repeated: - Failed to lock front buffer on /dev/dri/card1: gbm_surface_lock_front_buffer failed - Failed to query buffer age, got error 3003 When the OBS main window is made fullscreen, the flickering stops/reduces during testing. Important detail: the currently loaded OBS scene only contains a V4L2 webcam source, not a monitor/window PipeWire capture source. So this reproduction does not appear to require active screen capture; the OBS Wayland/EGL/OpenGL preview/window surface itself seems sufficient to trigger the problematic Mutter/i915 path when windowed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155412 Title: Wayland desktop flicker with gbm_surface_lock_front_buffer failed on Intel i915 dual high-refresh monitors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2155412/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
