I've seen the coreutils-from-uutils v0.9.0 changelog (and 0.8.0 too) and given the policy of Debian/Ubuntu and derivatives, I'm unlikely to see 0.9.0 in 26.04. So, the transition to coreutils-from-gnu seems more acceptable to me.
1. Using "equivs" is a crude hack that is only allowed in extreme cases, this is stated clearly and unambiguously in the Debian documentation. (An extreme case cannot be widespread, it even sounds strange.) 2. This explanation https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/coreutils- from/+bug/2147638/comments/3 seems ridiculous, because on "every corner" we are told about compatibility in parameters and behavior coreutils- from-uutils vs. coreutils-from-gnu. Please, bring back the choice option. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2148691 Title: build-essential depends on coreutils-from-uutils so it can't be upgraded if you have coreutils-from-gnu instead To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/build-essential/+bug/2148691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
