Thank you F.C Eigler, I am aware of this fact. The purpose of opening this ticket on ubuntu is to ask Canonical to refresh the version of systemtap for the next service build of 24.04, so that the systemtap version is at least compatible with the shipping kernel in the 24.04 LTS. The 24.04 LTS has many more years of service life still remaining. It seems wise for Canonical to at least do some basic testing with systemtap prior to each LTS service release to ensure basic compatibility.
