Public bug reported:
Machine: Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 AMD
Model: 21K50012US
BIOS: R2FET69W (1.49) 03/19/2026
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U
Kernel: 7.0.0-1005-oem (Ubuntu 26.04 Resolute)
OS: Ubuntu 26.04
Problem:
Built-in camera not detected. No /dev/video* devices appear.
Root cause identified:
PCI device 65:00.1 AMD IPU Device (0x1502) is present and detected. The
amd_isp4 kernel module loads but does not bind because it only has OMNI5C10 in
its ACPI match table. This machine has AMDI0052/AMDI0053 ACPI devices which
have no matching driver.
$ sudo modinfo amd_isp4 | grep alias
alias: acpi*:OMNI5C10:*
The ACPI devices AMDI0052 and AMDI0053 are present in the DSDT but are bare
stubs with no I2C/sensor resources. The sensor model and I2C address for this
board variant are unknown — AMD/Lenovo need to provide this info and update the
driver.
Steps to reproduce:
Fresh Ubuntu install on this hardware. Camera never works.
