I think Dell users are more likely to be impacted because: 1. Dell laptops are reasonably common 2. Many (most? all?) Dell laptops use Intel WiFi chipsets 3. Dell laptops are sold explicitly supporting Ubuntu, meaning that it's reasonably more likely that companies or users who want a laptop which works with Ubuntu out of the box are more likely to buy Dell than many other consumer laptops.
It may be worth noting that this specific bug (and concerns about general reliability as a result) is inhibiting all other users at my company from upgrading to 26.04. I would not be surprised if other users or companies have encountered the same issue but been unable to diagnose it sufficiently to find their way here. If dpkg-divert supported diverting directories then at least we could redirect /usr/lib/firmware/ into /usr/lib/firmware/updates, but alas. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2150769 Title: There is a conflict between the pc-kernel snap and additional firmware packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-kernel-snaps/+bug/2150769/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
