Public bug reported: [ Impact ]
During our testing on Linux desktop platforms, we found that there’s a low chance (2/200) that loading the parport_pc module on a platform without paraports leads to ACPI stress test failure. Similar issues have been reported in different places[1][2] The module loads unconditionally due to module.conf in cups-filters. This is unecessary because modaliases and related mechanism (udev etc.) already handle this. [ Fix ] Do not include parport_pc module in cups-filters' debian/local/modules- load.conf, in the following merge proposal from Debian: - Disable parport_pc automatic load (Closes: #1139318): https://salsa.debian.org/printing-team/cups-filters/-/merge_requests/3 [ Test ] 1. Install the packge 2. Redo the ACPI stress test on the said platform. The platform should pass the test.
