There is no reason in particular why I installed resolvconf. If I remember correctly, when I first installed Ubuntu on my laptop, network- manager was not installed by default. While looking for the best option, I stumbled upon resolvconf and installed it because it seemed to make sense. I installed network-manager later, and at first the network- manager-vpnc package wasn't available to integrate support for vpnc, so I left resolvconf around to help the two cooperate. I never uninstalled resolvconf because I didn't see a reason. I can see what happens without resolvconf next time I bring my laptop to work.
As for /etc/network/interfaces, the only non-commented out entries pertain to lo and ppp0, but I've attached it anyway. ** Attachment added: "/etc/network/interfaces" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11470089/interfaces -- network-manager not deleting resolvconf information on resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84313 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
