With network-manager as backend and when netplan apply is called without sudo permissions, a uncaught exception leads to the crash. Though the error is not indicating any invalid state in the system, the error needs to be caught and handled correctly. This gets reported as crash by apport and can lead to more crash reports that we may need to triage.
