Found supported sensor TBE20A0:00
Connected 1 cameras
cam -l
No sensor found for /dev/media0
Hardware:
• Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14
• Model: 21V7CTO1WW
• Intel Panther Lake platform
• Intel IPU7 camera subsystem
Software:
• Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute)
• Kernel tested:
• 7.0.0-22-generic
• 7.0.0-1005-oem
• intel-ipu7-dkms installed
• linux-firmware-intel-graphics installed
• libcamera 0.7.0
Problem:
The integrated camera is not usable in Ubuntu applications such as Snapshot and
Zoom.
Snapshot opens but only displays a black image.
Relevant observations:
The kernel successfully detects the camera sensor and reports:
intel-ipu7 0000:00:05.0: Found supported sensor TBE20A0:00
intel-ipu7 0000:00:05.0: Connected 1 cameras
The IPU7 firmware loads successfully.
v4l2-ctl reports the IPU7 device and creates video nodes /dev/video0 through
/dev/video31.However, libcamera reports:
cam -l
Output:
INFO Camera camera_manager.cpp:340 libcamera v0.7.0
INFO SimplePipeline simple.cpp:1899 No sensor found for /dev/media0
Available cameras:
media-ctl -p -d /dev/media0 shows only Intel IPU7 CSI and capture entities and
does not expose a
sensor entity in the media graph.
The issue persists after switching from the generic kernel to the OEM kernel
(7.0.0-1005-oem).
Expected behavior:
Integrated camera should be exposed through libcamera and usable by Snapshot,
Zoom, and
PipeWire applications.
Actual behavior:
Kernel detects sensor but libcamera cannot find a sensor and no usable camera
is exposed.
