Daniel, I understand the frustration, but I think the strongest path is to keep the report focused on the technical regression.
The core issue is clear enough: 470 being unsupported is one matter. 470 transitioning users toward 535 is another, because 535 does not support Kepler hardware. That makes the package transition misleading for affected users, regardless of the broader retirement policy. A reasonable fix does not have to mean supporting 470 forever. It could simply mean stopping the 470 → 535 transition, or documenting at the package/update level that Kepler users must choose nouveau, pin 470 at their own risk, use NVIDIA’s .run installer, or use a community workaround. The current behaviour still looks like an upgrade path, but for Kepler users it is not one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155202 Title: Latest Update Breaks Systems Using Nvidia 470 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/2155202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
