Public bug reported:
Hello,
I am running Ubuntu 26.04 on an HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx (Ryzen 3 7320U
platform) and the physical microphone mute LED (on the F8 key) does not
toggle or illuminate when the mic mute hotkey is pressed, even though
the software mutes correctly.
The standard 'hda::micmute' node is entirely missing from
/sys/class/leds/.
Here are the system details gathered from troubleshooting:
- OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Kernel: 7.0.0-22-generic
- Audio Codec: Realtek ALC236 (Subsystem Id: 0x103c8b2f)
- Board ID: HP 8B2F (SKU: 946T5EA#UUG)
Testing with evtest shows that 'HP WMI hotkeys' successfully registers
EV_KEY / KEY_MICMUTE (code 248) on keypress, but the corresponding LED
is not hooked up via the hp-wmi driver for this specific motherboard
revision.
Please consider adding a quirk mapping for Subsystem 0x103c8b2f / Board
8B2F to enable the mic mute LED trigger. Thank you!
