Public bug reported:
Amule 3.0 is out and has numerous bigfixes, now benchmarking at up to 200x (yes, really. We were surprised too) faster than 2.3.3 on high speed links with all known crashes and memory leaks quelled (If you find any more we want to know). For those with thousands of files being shared or downloaded, startup time has reduced from tens of minutes to 10 seconds at most (usually faster) Please note: the original maintainer has been incommunicado without warning since the end of February 2021 and any assistance tracking him down would be appreciated as he holds the keys to the Kingdom for amule.org and gtthub/amule-project. The Sourceforge download links are being maintained, but primary development and all documentation has moved from https://github.com/amule-project to https://github.com/amule-project - pointers to the new site are on both the old ones, but we can't do anything about amule.org After a very long hiatus the project (effectively anbandoned) has had several thousand commits in the last 6 months and 3.0.0 was only released after extensive testing. It's the Big Bugfix one that everyone's been waiting 15 years for. There is already work to modernise the internals and bring new features such as NAT-traversal. From the outside it should seem almost identical to the old version, just without the nasty crashes and memory leaks that plagued older versions. ** Affects: amule (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2157906 Title: Upstream updated - now 3.0.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amule/+bug/2157906/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
