To add some details, when click on a .deb a window appears asking for the password. After entering the password and hit authenticate gdebi just disappears.
in the terminal sudo gdebi-gtk ./foo.deb the gdebi window appears but it doesn't do anything, there is no error message. Downgrade to gdebi 0.9.5.7+nmu7 (grabbed it from launchpad) Still the same issue, click a .deb, window appears to ask for password, enter password and authenticate then gdebi just quietly quits. But it works in 24.04. But version 0.9.5.7 works in the terminal (in 26.04) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2147611 Title: gdebi double clicking files to install .deb files are not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdebi/+bug/2147611/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
