Hey there folks! I looked into this a bit more and it seems that this bug is due to a missing Cargo feature flag that somehow got disabled between versions (thanks mhalano on GitHub for discovering it).
I'm building rust-coreutils with it explicitly enabled again and will see whether this solves the issue.
