Bug 1 — App launch delay
On Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute), every application takes 3–4 seconds to display
its window after being clicked, despite the app itself launching almost
instantly. Running time ptyxis confirms the actual process starts in just 52ms
— the delay is entirely in the pre-window display stage handled by GNOME
Shell/Wayland compositor.
This issue did not exist on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and only appeared after a clean
install of 26.04 LTS. Hardware is not the bottleneck (Ryzen 5 8645HS, 16GB
DDR5). Snap is not installed. AppArmor was stopped and confirmed not to be the
cause.
Bug 2 — Screenshot not working correctly
The screenshot tool in Ubuntu 26.04 LTS has two issues:
When capturing apps like Terminal, the screenshot shows a white/blank area
instead of the actual window content.
The desktop itself (wallpaper with no open windows) cannot be captured — the
screenshot tool either fails or returns a blank result.
Browser windows are captured correctly. The issue appears specific to
certain app types and the desktop surface under Wayland.but the preview
while screenshotting is perfect, no issue there, i can only see the
white blank area in the output jpeg/png. I am attaching a screenshot as
reference for the bug.
