Thank you for the bug report! mysql_native_password is no longer loaded
by default in mysql 8.4 as it is deprecated, and will be fully removed
in future Ubuntu releases as it is removed in 9.7. I agree that there
should be a warning for users upgrading from 24.04 to 26.04 who are
currently using mysql_native_password though. I will work on adding this
