While Firefox was unavailable, I installed the text-based browsers w3m
and Links and found that Google Search blocks both with the error
message "Update your browser - Your browser isn't supported anymore. To
continue your search, upgrade to a recent version." error message. I
used DuckDuckGo in Links and found that Ask Ubuntu blocks both with the
"Enable JavaScript and cookies to continue" error message.
I used DuckDuckGo again to find this bug and followed instructions given
by maciek-borzecki to the best of my ability. Running snap-discard-ns
fixed Firefox for me.
