With Ubuntu 26.04, if the screen is locked for an extended amount of
time (~ 15-30 minutes), the laptop display fails to restore its graphics
mode. External monitors restore just fine. i915 DRM seems to be the
culprit, as other users (of other Linux distros) report similar issues,
potentially relating to eDP lane configuration restore not switching
back to the earlier negotiated speeds.
