Public bug reported:

I just used ubuntu-bug qterminal to upload data with regard to this bug
report #2159591.

To answer Chris Guiver's question:

1. I am using DejaVu Sans Mono 16pt font, which is a Mono font. I still
get abnormal output with an extra wide fist column. It does not happen
with every subdirectory, but it does happend in a window in which I have
a lot of files as jpg photos. The filenames are not long, less than 20
characters in length. All other columns look fine!

2. To solve the problem, I wrote my own python code `list.py` which uses
'ls -l | awk '{print $1,$3,$4,$5,$6,$7,$9}' > files.csv' and then I open
file.csv, parse the columns and redisplay the columns using arrays and
width formatting.
