I have two screens that I want to use in 1280 horizontal resolution, and
I want direct rendering, too. That is why I tried to set "Virtual 1500
1900" row in xorg.conf and set one screen above other by xrandr. Well,
it did not help; I still don't have direct rendering. I don't get direct
rendering even if I set xrandr to use just on screen. (Actually, to make
screen(s) even look right, I had to use somewhat greater setting for
"Virtual" than 1280 <sum of the vertical resolutions>.)

$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: No (If you want to find out why, try setting
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose)
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect

I don't know where to set "LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose".
I am using Xubuntu 7.10 on a Acer laptop.

$ lspci | grep Graphics
