@Jose: Removal was not even the main problem here. The incorrect transition was.
What Ubuntu needs to do to fix this bug: 1. Take the last working version (470.256.02-0ubuntu0.24.04.1) before the transition error and re-upload it with a higher version number (like I did with my PPA). 2. Delete the 470.256.02-0ubuntu0.24.04.5 version of 470-server from the -proposed repo, or find some other way to make sure it never sees the light of day, breaks systems, and repeats this bug. After that, you folks can have a nice discussion about general policies, whether the 470 drivers should be removed completely, etc. I hope and pray you can work out something less disruptive than what happened with this bug by the next Nvidia legacy EoL (580.xx in October 2028). TIP: Do not transition the 580 driver to something newer when the time comes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155202 Title: Latest Update Breaks Systems Using Nvidia 470 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/2155202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
