This appears to be better in 26.04 (but not as good as 22.04). Using the
static application switcher and giving it the right key combinations I
can get ALT-Tab to switch between windows. But, it only shows the
thumbnails when telling you what it would select, rather than the whole
window like 22.04 does (for me anyway). This makes switching between
multiple instances of the same application tricky as you can't tell at
the point you select it which instance you will get.

However, I now have an upgrade path for my various instances of 22.04
without abandoning ubuntu (which I've been using since 6.04) or having
to use the unity like abomination.
