Resolved locally.
The recurring notification was caused by a stored successful fwupd
result for the UEFI dbx device:
* Previous version: 20250902
* New version: 20260402
* Update state: Success
The notification disappeared permanently after running:
sudo fwupdmgr clear-results 362301da643102b9f38477387e2193e57abaa590
Upgrading gnome-software from 46.0-1ubuntu2 to the proposed version
46.0-1ubuntu2.2 did not resolve the issue.
The report was originally filed against update-notifier, but the
notification opened GNOME Software and was related to the stored
fwupd/UEFI dbx update result. I am therefore closing the update-notifier
task as Invalid.
