On updating from 24.04 to 25.10 I started seeing kernel SQUASHFS errors,
enough to make snaps unusable. I'm sure this is not a media problem.
Disabling all but one core

27 28 29 30 31; do echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu$z/online; done
allows me to use snaps again, so I strongly suspect a thread synchronisation
problem.
This is on an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X currently running Linux
6.17.0-41-generic.
