Public bug reported:

Bug Description:
Display brightness adjustments (via FN keys and system slider) stopped working
completely after upgrading to kernel 7.0.0-28-generic.

Hardware & Environment:
- Laptop: MSI Katana GF66 11UE
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile / Intel UHD Graphics
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Affected Kernel: 7.0.0-28-generic
- Working Kernel: 6.17.0-40-generic

Details:
1. On kernel 6.17.0-40-generic, display brightness control works as expected.
2. After booting into 7.0.0-28-generic, the brightness slider has no effect.
3. Tried setting acpi_backlight=vendor (slider disappears completely) as well
as acpi_backlight=native and acpi_backlight=video (slider is present, but
brightness does not change).
4. Checking /sys/class/backlight/ shows only acpi_video0 and acpi_video1.

This appears to be a kernel/ACPI/Nvidia backlight driver regression in
the 7.0.x branch.
